About Hong Kong (www.discoverhongkong.com)

-Weather : Autumn (November & December)

There are pleasant breezes, plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Many people regard these as the best months of the year to visit Hong Kong.

Average Temperature: 19°C – 28°C (www.weather.gov.hk)

-Time Zones : UTC +8

-Visa: Nationals of most countries and regions do not require a visa to enter Hong Kong for tourism and can stay for periods varying from seven to 180 days, depending on nationality. If you’re unsure of your status, please check with any Chinese Embassy or Consulate General of the People Republic of China in the applicant’s country.  You can also find further details about visa requirement through HKSARG website at www.immigration.gov.hk

-Currency

The legal tender in Hong Kong is Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) which is pegged to the US Dollars (USD) at a rate of 7.8 HKD to 1 USD.  You can change your currency at authorized money exchanger.

-Electricity and voltage

The standard of electrical voltage in HKG is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. The majority of electrical outlets in Hong Kong take a three-pronged UK-style plug. You can buy an inexpensive adaptor for your electrical equipment at most convenience stores.

In Hong Kong, you can hang your hat in modest guesthouses, youth hostels, palatial hotels, chic boutiques, and mid-range comfort – in the heart of the city or away from it all. With over 72,000 rooms in over 200 hotels, you’re sure to find the perfect place for you (and your hat).
