Dear Friends,
Back in 1992, I wrote “The Barton Mold” about the career of two-time Olympic sprint kayak champ Greg Barton. It was subsequently published by USA Canoe-Kayak who sold it in hard copy for many years.
Now it’s been about two decades since Barton won the Seoul Olympics but many people still find the book useful. Sure, there have been advances in boat design, swivel seats and training at altitude, but many of the basics remain the same as in Barton’s time.
So, in 2005, with permission from USA Canoe-Kayak, a Japanese translation was published and David Hearn started making the English version available on his website, www.daveyhearn.com, for free. Now I'm happy to announce here that the ICF has linked to Hearn’s site, thus making the book available to even wider audiences around the world.
Anyone wanting to buy a hard copy of the book can still get it through USA Canoe-Kayak by contacting them at info@usack.org.
If you have any comments about the book, you can address them to me at endicottwt@aol.com.
Happy Paddling -- and follow your dreams!
