Jessica Fox is becoming a well known face on the Canoeing scene, despite being just 16 years old. Born in France to Canoe Superstars, Richard Fox and Myriam Jerusalmi, her start in the sport has been a good one at every level.
Coached by her mum, Jess started in 2005. Her first national competition was in Tasmania, Australia in 2006. But this year has proved to be the best yet. In Prague earlier this year, Jess won a gold medal in the Women's C1 at the 2010 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup and followed this performance with a triumphant double gold in both the K1 and C1 at the 2010 ICF Canoe Slalom Junior World Championships in Foix, France.

Having won gold in the 2009 Australian Youth Olympic Festival, which she describe as her best sporting moment, and now taking part in the first ever Youth Olympic Games, Jess is well on her way to fulfilling her dream of competing at the Olympic Games.

Perhaps the most impressive is Jessica's ability to adapt to all types of Canoeing, she has concentrated this year as much on the Canoe events as she has Kayak events. Will a similar record of achievement come to fruitition as she tries her hand at Canoe Sprint alongside her more comfortable discipline, Canoe Slalom? Keep watching to find out how Jess does.
The Canoe Sprint events begin on Saturday 21st August with the finals on Sunday. Canoe Slalom will be held on Tuesday 24th August with the finals on Wednesday.
