The International Canoe Federation has further strengthened its world-wide development programme with an exciting partnership with paddling equipment manufacturer, Prestol Composites.
The two-year partnership will see the Latvian-based manufacturer provide five canoes a year to the ICF’s development programme, which works to make paddle sports more accessible in communities around the world where a lack of infrastructure and resources restricts the growth of the sport.
The ICF’s marketing manager, Catherine Wieser, said working with a highly regarded developer like Prestol Composites will be a tremendous boost for paddle sports.
“The ICF has an ambitious goal to take paddle sports to as many communities around the world as possible, but achieving such a goal requires enormous resources,” Mrs. Wieser said.
“Our partnership with Prestol will open a lot of doors for us, and allow us to provide valuable boats to communities who might normally struggle to get such resources, said Sebastian Cuattrin, ICF’s sport development manager
“It really makes a big difference to our development programme when we can provide top-level equipment for people who are just starting out in the sport. The partnership with Prestol I am sure will provide benefits for many years to come.”
Prestol Composites aims to bring the most technologically advanced and top performing kayaks, canoes and paddle boats to top-level athletes around the world.
Prestol’s Oto Dzenis said his company offers a wide range of paddling equipment suitable for all levels, from professionals to beginners, children’s boats and stable kayaks. Prestol also manufactires stand up paddle boards.
The company also designs and manufactures equipment for the winter sports of bobsleigh, skeleton and luge.
