A full weekend of canoe slalom racing at the "Stadio della Canoa" in Ivrea provided many of the continent's best paddlers a valuable hit-out ahead of next months's European Championships, and also booked a Tokyo Olympic ticket for Italy's Stefanie Horn.

The European Championships on the same Ivrea course on May 6 - 9 will allocate final Tokyo 2020 Olympic quotas for Europe, with a handful of countries still chasing those elusive tickets.

But one athlete who can now sleep easier at night is Italy's Horn, a 2016 Olympian who will now get a second chance at Games glory in the women's K1. Horn dominated the three qualifying races to secure her start in Tokyo.

Remaining Italian tickets will be allocated this weekend in Tacen.

Athletes from all over Europe competed in Ivrea, with strict Covid-19 quarantine protocols in place.

Full results from the weekend's races can be found here.
