2022 Olympic Day celebrations in Paris whet the appetite for what is certain to be a thrilling Olympic Games in 2024, with more than 400 fans turning out to try their skills at the slalom, sprint and paracanoe venues.

Three-time canoe slalom Olympic champion and now President of Paris 2024, Tony Estanguet, was among the crowd who took to the water, with a big media contingent capturing all the action and offering a fantastic snapshot of the passion of paddle sport fans.

The Paris 2022 Olympic Day saw demonstrations and activations in 30 Olympic and several Paralympic sports, mixed with art and live music under a bustling and festive atmosphere.

French national athletes, including Olympic and Paralympic champions, were present to share their passion for sport with participants of all ages who came out in force to get of foretaste of the Olympic Games in 2024.

"Sport, entertainment, energy and sharing: this Olympic Day reflected what the Paris 2024 Games will be like for all those attending,” Estanguet said.

“It was important for us to organise it in Seine-Saint-Denis, an area that inspires us with its youth, dynamism and creativity, and which will be the beating heart of the Games.”

The slalom, sprint and paracanoe competitions at Paris 2024 will be held at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, which in 2019 was the first newly developed Olympic facility to be delivered.
