Stand up paddlers are being urged to register soon for this year’s ICF SUP World Championships in Gdynia, Poland, with the closing date for early bird registration discounts fast approaching.

From August 8 the registration fee for this year’s world championships will double. Athletes planning to compete in sprint, long distance and technical races can save more than 100 EUR by registering before the deadline.

Big fields are once again expected for the world championships, following on from record-breaking entries in China in 2019 and Hungary last year. This year’s world titles will run from September 7-11.

The 2022 world championships will feature events for athletes of all levels during the four-day festival of paddling. Elite-level athletes will need to progress through preliminary races for sprint and technical, with the exception of the top 32 ranked athletes in the 2022 ICF SUP rabkings.

An updated rankings list will be released after the third ICF SUP World Cup in Oklahoma on August 26-28. The current ranking list can be viewed here https://www.canoeicf.com/2022-icf-sup-world-ranking-series

Dragon SUP, children’s races and an exhibition race in partnership with the Special Olympics are all planned for the Gdynia festival. More information, including entry visa details for Poland, can be here. https://icfsupgdynia2022.pl/
