Tickets have gone on sale for this year’s ICF canoe sprint and paracanoe world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, as the canoeing world prepares for a return to normality after almost two years of disruption.

This year provides a unique opportunity for the planet’s best paddlers; the chance to become an Olympic and world champion in the same calendar year, after the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Games has put both events on the 2021 programme.

The 2021 world championships at Lake Bagsvaerd will also be a centenary celebration for the Danish Canoe Federation, which was formed on March 5 1921.

Countries who have not yet registered for the September 15-19 world championships are urged to do so now.

More than 20 per cent of Denmark’s adult population has received the first shot of the vaccination. The Danish Government has announced that they expect a full opening of Denmark by the end of July.

The Organizing Committee has a close collaboration with the Danish authorities and the Danish National Health Organization to ensure that the correct measures are taken when setting up the event site, the accommodation, and the transportation for the event.
