REASON FOR TAKING UP THE SPORT
She began participating in wheelchair basketball and sailing as part of her rehabilitation. She switched to Para canoe after a member of the West Lakes Canoe Club in Western Australia saw her at the local aquatic centre and invited her to try the sport. "Being out on the water provided and continues to provide a sense of independence and freedom that is now difficult to achieve elsewhere in my life. I love just spending time on the water."
