The best canoe sprint and paracanoe athletes in Asia will gather in Thailand this week for the 2022 Asian Canoe Confederation championships.

The titles will see the best senior and U18 canoe sprint athletes, and the best paracanoe competitors, competing in Pattaya. The championships will also serve as a qualifying event for the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China.

Almost 50 athletes from seven nations have entered the Asian Paracanoe Championships, while almost 250 athletes from 12 countries have entered the canoe sprint event.

Last weekend Thailand also hosted the Asian canoe slalom continental championships.
