Qualification
Each sport on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Programme has established a set of criteria which athletes and teams must meet in order to obtain qualification slots for the Games. The guidelines include details of the three new Paracanoe medal events which will be contested for the first time at the Paralympics. Paracanoe has increased from six medal events at Rio 2016 to nine for Tokyo 2020, with the inclusion of men's VL2 and VL3, and women's VL2.
