Luciano Buonfiglio
About
Luciano Buonfiglio has taken on the role of Vice President of the International Canoe Federation on an interim basis since June 2023.
He is carrying out the position alongside his deposition as Treasurer – a role which he has held since 2009.
As well as his duties at the ICF, Mr Buonfiglio is the President of the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation following his election in 2005.
Mr Buonfiglio, who represented his country in canoe sprint at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games, is also a member of the Italian Olympic Committee where he served as Vice President and currently is on the National Board of Governors.

Sports practised
Mr Buonfiglio represented the Italian canoe sprint team, winning several national titles, participating in five World Championships and competing in the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games.
Honours
Mr Buonfiglio was awarded the Cavaliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by the Italian President in 1998 and has also been the recipient of the CONI Star Award for Sports Merits.
