2016 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships

The ICF Dragon Boat World Championships is organised every two years where national teams from all around the world gather to celebrate this unique team sport event.

This year, Russia and the city of Moscow is the candidate to organsie this even at the Krylatskoye course where has been the host for European Canoe Sprint Championships this year as well as a number of ICF World Championships and World Cups in the previous years.

There are sixteen nations from four continents participating in different categories. Three age categories are consist of Junior, Senior and Masters as well as two boat categories, ten seater and twenty seater boats, there are also women boats, men boats and mixed boats.

The first day of finals at the Krylatskoye course in Moscow kicked off with the host country, winning the first gold, Russia continued grabbing more golds and stood on the top of the first day’s medal talley with fortheen golds, Germany and Hungary  followed Russia with one gold each.

Tomorrow will be a qualification date and we will update the medal tally on Sunday with more finals to come.
