Fans have been given one final chance to snap up the remaining few tickets for Paris 2024 as the International Canoe Federation celebrates 100 days until the start of the Olympic Games.
Today marks another major step on the road to the Olympics which will officially open in the French capital on July 26.
The milestone day comes just 24 hours after the Olympic flame was lit in Ancient Olympia, Greece as the Paris 2024 torch starts its 3,000-mile journey.
With the Olympic on the horizon and excitement continuing to build, Paris 2024 has put the last batch of tickets on sale across all the sports.
There has been a huge interest in tickets for Canoe Sprint and Canoe Slalom since being made available for fans so there is limited availability as the ICF sets its sights on a full house.
Vaires-sur-Marne will host all the canoeing events, including the much-anticipated Olympic debut of Kayak Cross.
If you have yet to secure your seat at Vaires-sur-Marne, there is a chance but you will need to be quick.
The final batch of tickets will be released at 10am CET today so it’s now or never.
Competition will be exhilarating as paddlers battle it out for a place on the podium and write their name in the Olympic history books.
Canoe Slalom will start proceedings, running from July 27 to August 5 before Canoe Sprint takes place from August 6 to 10.
It will be Canoe Sprint’s 21st appearance at the Olympics after debuting at Berlin 1936, while Canoe Slalom will make its 10th Games following its debut at Munich 1972 and then returning to the programme at Barcelona 1992.
Paris 2024 quota places remain up for grabs, with the Canoe Sprint qualifiers in Asia and Pan America due to be held this month before the European spots will be decided in early May.
A Kayak Cross global qualification tournament is set to be staged in Prague, Czechia in early June.
The final tickets have also been released for the Paris 2024 Paralympics where Paracanoe will make its third successive appearance at the Games.
As well as getting ready for the Olympics and Paralympics, the ICF is celebrating its 100th anniversary in what is a special year.
The ICF, formerly known as the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft für Kanusport, was formed on January 19, 1924.
Later that year, flatwater canoeing – the former name of Canoe Sprint – featured as a demonstration sport at the Paris 1924 Olympic Games.
ICF President Thomas Konietzko has welcomed the release of the final tickets for Paris 2024 as he looks forward to the Olympics that begin in Paris in just 100 days’ time.
“It’s exciting to reach another important milestone on our journey to the Olympic Games as we celebrate 100 days to go,” said Mr Konietzko.
“I am sure that the Games will be spectacular in Paris with Vaires-sur-Marne providing a fantastic venue to showcase our great sport to the world.
“It would be amazing to have the stadium at full capacity so I look forward to people capturing the remaining tickets.
“You will not want to miss out as our athletes will deliver incredible performances on the water.
“The inclusion of Kayak Cross is an exciting addition to the programme in Paris and will help us inspire new fans to our sport.”
Paris 2024 will see an equal number of male and female athletes and officials participate in Canoe Sprint and Canoe Slalom at the Olympics.
“I am thrilled that we have achieved gender equality for Paris 2024 as it’s one of our major objectives as part of our Fit for Future strategy,” added Mr Konietzko.
“This year is a significant one for the ICF as we celebrate our 100th anniversary and look forward to a memorable Games in Paris.”
