2017 Canoe Slalom World Cup Quota Attribution

  1. All Federations ranked on the 2016 ICF CSL Ranking list will get a minimum quota allocation of 2 boats per event in the Canoe Slalom (CSL) World Cup Races. Up to 2 additional quotas may be qualified via the 2016 ICF CSL Ranking. Federations not ranked on the 2016 ICF Ranking list will get a quota allocation of 1 boat.

  2. To fulfill Rule 44.3.1 of the Canoe Slalom Competition Rules, the ICF Canoe Slalom Committee (CSLC) has established a ranking of the Federations for each event from the final release of the 2016 CSL ICF Ranking.

  3. The ranking for Federations in all events (K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W and C2M) is established as follows:
    1. Additional quota 2+2 allocation is given to the Federation having four Athletes ranked first in the 2016 ICF ranking. This quota allocation is open to the top 5 ranked Federations in K1M, and the top 3 ranked Federations in K1W, C1M, C1W and C2M.
    2. Additional quota 2+1 allocation is given to the next ranked Federations having 3 Athletes ranked in the 2016 ICF ranking. This quota allocation is given to the next 18 Federations ranked 6th to 18th in K1M, and the next 13 Federations 4th to 16th in K1W, C1M and C1W and the next 5 Federations ranked 4th to 8th in C2M. Thus for Federations listed on the 2016 ICF ranking:

Example for K1 MEN
From the 2016 ICF CSL Ranking (4th - final release) the first Federation who has 4 boats ranked in the highest position receive the Nation rank position N°1, the second Federation who has 4 boats ranked is second and so forth until 5 Federations are ranked.
Next, Federations with 3 boats in the ranking list, take the 6th to 23rd rank places. All remaining Federations are ranked according to the position of their first boat and receive a WCS quota allocation of 2 boats.
