Ones to Watch

Katniss Paris (USA): Back as defending champion following her stunning victory on home waters in Sarasota last year, Katniss Paris will be determined to power to the women’s sprint title again. It is set to another exciting tussle with fellow American and 2023 champion Seychelle Webster who will be looking to return to the top.

Shuri Araki (JPN): The Japanese star is another title holder in the field as he aims to retain the men’s long distance crown. Araki became the first paddler from his country to win a world gold medal in 2024 and will be seeking to create more history for Japan. With France’s technical race champion Noic Garioud not in Abu Dhabi, Araki will also have eyes on that title having placed second behind the Frenchman last year.

Kyriaki Logotheti (GRE): A strong Greek team has arrived in Abu Dhabi looking to get in the mix for medals. Among those is Logotheti who has been one of the stand out performers in the ICF SUP World Ranking Series this year. She sits second overall in technical and long distance standings only bettered by talented Hungarian Csillag Kocsis who has opted to compete in the junior events in Abu Dhabi.
