Japan’s Shuri Araki swept to two titles on his first appearance at the SUP Alps Trophy THE LAKE ROCKS. 

The Japanese star was in cruise control at the International Canoe Federation Stand Up Paddling World Ranking Event, picking up two gold medals. 

He powered to the men’s technical and men’s long distance crowns on Lake Faak in Villach, Austria. 

It was also a strong week for Italy’s Cecilia Pampinella who struck gold in the women’s technical and sealed bronze behind Spain’s Esperanza Barreras in the women’s long distance. 

The first of Araki’s golds came in the men’s long distance as he got the better of compatriot Rai Taguchi. 

Araki clinched victory in 1:09:31.56 as Taguchi crossed in 1:09:37.02 for silver, while the bronze went to Donato Freens of the Netherlands in 1:09:44.36.

The 19-year-old completed his brace in the men’s technical when he pulled clear to clinch victory. 

Spain’s Aaron Sanchez had to settle with silver as Germany’s Normen Weber earned bronze. 

There was a Spanish one-two in the women’s long distance as Barreras and Duna Gordillo battled it out for top spot. 

Barreras emerged victorious in 1:14:02.49 as Gordillo collected silver in 1:14:05.15 and Pampinella picked up bronze in 1:14:06.877. 

Pampinella came out on top in the women’s technical as she overcame the likes of Gordillo, Barreras and Hungary’s Csillag Kocsis. 

The silver went to Kocsis, while Gordillo overcame Barreras for bronze.
