Italian and French paddlers claimed the top prize as Ivrea hosted an International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom World Ranking event.

A week after teenager Xabier Ferrazzi beat Olympic champion and compatriot Giovanni de Gennaro in Tacen, the latter showed his class at home.

The men's kayak final saw the Paris 2024 gold medallist produce a clean run in 91.28 while a gate touch resulted in Ferrazzi finishing second, just 1.24 behind. Third place went to Slovenian paddler Martin Srabotnik in 92.69.

In the women’s K1 final, Italian paddler Stefanie Horn triumphed ahead of compatriot Lucia Pistoni.

Despite a two-second penalty, the 34-year-old was four seconds faster than Pistoni in 106.59.

French paddler Marjorie Delassus stopped an Italian clean sweep by winning bronze. Her run in 112.15 was more than a second faster than Caterina Pignat, who finished fourth.

The women's canoe final was a memorable one for the Delassus sisters, as Marjorie added to her tally by winning gold. She was 2.70 ahead of her younger sister Doriane Delassus in 114.98.

It was a tight battle between Clara Gonzalez of Spain and Elena Micozzi of Italy for the third spot with the latter securing the spot in 116.09.

The men's C1 final also went to France thanks to Jules Bernardet. The 24-year-old came out on top in 97.88 in what was a tightly contested affair.

That run was 0.41 faster than Luka Bozic of Slovenia while Italian Flavio Micozzi bagged bronze in 98.76.

On Sunday, the focus shifted to kayak cross with another French double on the Dora Baltea River.

It was Coline Charel who cruised to victory among women, ahead of Slovenian Eva Alina Hocevar and Macy Kang of Great Britain.

The men's final saw Mathurin Madore bag the title with silver and bronze going to Slovenian Jakob Savlija and Italian Tommaso Panico, respectively.
