Adventure travel, tourism, and paddling have to be the holy trinity.

Not often do people get a chance to gaze at the pristine icy landscape in Antarctica and watch the migration of humpback whales.

Adding to that, the potential to go kayaking with Olympic champion Noemie Fox has to be the cherry on the cake.

The Paris 2024 kayak cross gold medallist has partnered with Intrepid Travel on a voyage to Antarctica, set to depart on March 9, 2026.

The 11-day expedition aboard the Ocean Nova cruise ship is titled “Best of Antarctica: Whale Journey”.

“I didn’t think I’d tick off a bucket list dream anytime soon after winning gold in Paris butttt @intrepidtravel are about to change that because I’m going to Antarctica,” Fox wrote on Instagram.

“Next March, I’ll get to jump on the Best of Antarctica Whale Journey trip with @intrepidtravel !!

“We will be leaving from Ushuaia on March 9 for the 11-day expedition to explore the Antarctic Peninsula, learn from polar experts, see the migration of humpback whales and even go kayaking!”

The trip is priced starting at AUD 14,940 and will start with a welcome briefing.

Other activities include daily briefings and recap, onboard lecture programme, citizen science programme, guided walking excursions, and Zodiac excursion/cruising.

Aboard the Ocean Nova, Fox will also talk about her journey to Olympic gold, and participants can take the opportunity to kayak with her during the day paddle programme (limited spots available).

The expedition will also see polar experts cover a range of topics from the diverse wildlife to the unique geology of the region.
