Young talent took centre stage in Pattaya, Thailand as Australia’s 16-year-old Sevan Billaut and Japan’s 17-year-old Mine Onozawa both secured impressive victories at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Slalom Ranking Race.  

Billaut stormed to the top of the podium in the men’s kayak final, posting a winning time of 84.81.  

Kazakhstan's Imangali Mambetov secured silver in 86.62, while Japan’s Teppei Saito completed the podium in 87.04.  

Japan dominated in the women’s K1 final, with teenager Onozawa taking gold in 93.57.

Compatriot Momoka Nagasu claimed silver in 96.06 as Taiwan’s Ting-I Wu took a third placed finish in 97.08.  

In the men’s canoe final, Kazakhstan's Alexandr Kulikov produced a fine run of 86.51 to take gold.  

Japan’s Keigo Yamamoto finished second in 87.30, while Billaut secured bronze in 91.27, adding a second medal to his tally.  

China celebrated victory in the women’s C1 final as Gaoyi Liu finished first in 103.87, despite incurring four penalty seconds.  

Kazakhstan's Anastassiya Ananyeva took silver in 107.69, while Japan’s Misora Nitta claimed bronze in 114.42.
