Sunday morning races provided the most explosive action with all the 200 meters races contested,  Russia again proved to be the fastest nation in Dragon Boat with winning twelve golds, it was followed by Germany and Philippines with three and two golds respectively.

Dragon boat is in constant development and so many Russians are competing in this discipline and that’s why the Russian Canoe Federation decided to host this year’s world championships here in Moscow said Elena Iskhakova, the organiser and the member of the ICF Dragon Boat Committee, she continued, we would like to have more countries participate in every edition of the World Championships and we promote this sport more and more. We are very happy to invite the world to come and compete in Moscow she added, in Russia, each year we have more people and teams competing in national championships, there are many clubs in Moscow and in other cities all over Russia who train one year to compete in the national championships and almost all Canoe Sprint clubs here, have also a Dragon Boat team. We are happy to have 16 countries here, last year for the first time the European Dragon boat championships was organised and we can see the improvement  of this discipline step by step.

The Championships was concluded with 2000 meter races were boats had to circle around a2000m oval course, the competition was stunning and the crowd cheered for huge 20 seater boats who not only had to go fast but to prove also their tactic and competence in steering an oval course.
