Three-time Olympic champion Tony Estanguet will publish his new book, titled Par Amour Du Sport, on November 14, supported by French publishing house Calmann-Lévy.
Already available for pre-ordering for €20.90, the 352-page book will give you an insight into the behind-the-scenes of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
The former President of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee dives into 10 years of orchestrating what was the most successful Games so far, with record-breaking viewership, attendance, and a strong emphasis on sustainability and inclusion.
“I'm not used to confiding, but last summer, seeing the fervour that the Paris 2024 Games aroused, I wanted to tell their story,” Estanguet wrote on social media.

“The history of Paris 2024 began more than ten years ago. There were 6 of us, then 50, then 4,000, and, when Céline Dion started singing L'Hymne à l'amour on the evening of July 26, 2024, we were millions,” it says on the description, as quoted by Calmann-Lévy.
“This is the story of a collective victory. That of a great project that forced us to work together and put ourselves at the service of something that was beyond us.
“It's a story that tells much more than the construction of an edition of the Games, and that's why I wanted to share it.
“With Paris 2024, our country had the audacity to imagine things that had never been done: the first opening ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games outside a stadium, the first Games in the heart of a city, the first marathon open to all, the first Park of Champions, the first supporters' squares, the first basin that flies away.
“At a time when the whole world was watching us, we rediscovered our joy of life and our ability to accomplish great things.
“We rediscovered France that sings, France that dances, France that speaks to itself, France that loves itself.”

The Games in Paris was extra special for the paddling community as kayak cross made its debut at the level, capturing the imagination of fans worldwide.
A multiple world champion, Estanguet was instrumental in the process that led to the inclusion of kayak cross as a medal event on the Olympic programme, along with former ICF Canoe Slalom Committee Chair Jean-Michel Prono.
