The International Canoe Federation is delighted to partner with QUKO, a European technology firm that specialises in onboat performance analysis devices.

QUKO will be on board as the ICF’s Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe Development Programme Partner and will help boost performance levels in 2026.

The company’s Kosoku devices will assist coaches in bridging the gap in data interpretation by providing realtime, actionable insights to guide athletes toward better technique and performance.

Developed with elite athletes and coaches, and grounded in sports science and engineering, QUKO's focus is on putting objective data from the vessel into the hands of paddlers and the people guiding them.

From stroke rate to boat speed, splits, acceleration and more, Kosoku devices measure them all and feed them into a cloud platform where training sessions can be reviewed, compared across blocks and discussed between coach and athlete.

It also produces a seamless 3D rendering of the paddler, providing athletes and coaches with a powerful visual aid to analyse body position and other techniques.

As part of the partnership, the ICF and QUKO will also run a joint Pilot Programme, in which Development Camp athletes will race with Kosoku devices fitted to their boats.

“With preparations in full swing for this season’s development camp in Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe, the signing of this partnership with QUKO marks a major step forward in integrating cuttingedge technology into our sport,” ICF Vice President Dr. Cecilia Farias said.

“Realtime data and AIdriven insights will empower athletes, coaches, and federations to push performance to new levels, while also enriching the way fans experience paddle sport.”

Pablo Alvarez, CEO and Founder of QUKO, said: “We are enormously proud to become the ICF’s partner dedicated to performance technology and data processing for elite athletes.

“Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe deserve the same level of technological support that other high-performance sports have long taken for granted, and until now, that support has been missing from our disciplines.

“We are convinced that data can revolutionise paddle sport at every level, from young talents taking their first competitive strokes to World Championship finalists fighting for hundredths of a second. QUKO is proud to stand alongside the ICF as we bring our sport into this new era, and we sincerely thank the federation for their trust in making this partnership a reality.”
