Home favourite Cecilia Panato continued her sensational season by helping herself to another hat-trick of titles at the International Canoe Federation Wildwater Canoeing World Cup 5-6 in Mezzana, Italy.
The Italian star was in dominant form as she completed a canoe-kayak double in classic before clinching the women’s C1 sprint title for a memorable treble on home waters.
Panato’s first gold came in the women’s K1 classic as she secured victory in a time of 14:48.77.

Czechia’s Kristina Novosadova came second in 14:52.73 as Italy’s Maya Bagnato bagged bronze in 15:06.76.
Panato bagged her second gold in the women’s C1 classic as she powered to top spot in 16:00.35.
France’s Laure Fontaine had to settle for silver in 16:34.22 as Alice Panato joined her sister on the podium when she notched 16:39.72 for bronze.
The final day of competition saw Panato secure her third gold courtesy of her victory in the women’s C1 sprint in 1:06.93.

She was followed by two French paddlers as Elsa Gaubert picked up silver in 1:07.84 and Fontaine collected bronze in 1:08.77.
It was a French one-two in the men’s C1 classic as Theo Viens overcame Charles Ferrion to take gold.
Viens posted 15:07.68 for the title as Ferrion clinched silver in 15:21.07 and Czechia’s Matous Beier earned bronze in 15:23.41.
Briam Vandecasteele topped a Belgium one-two-three in the men’s K1 classic.
He triumphed in 14:02.66, beating compatriot Joren Bogaerts who came second in 14:08.78 and Leo Montulet who picked up bronze in 14:09.10.
In the team events, France’s Viens joined forces with Nicolas Sauteur to capture the men’s canoe double crown in 14:39.49.
It was a French clean sweep as Manoel Roussin and Tanguy Roussin claimed silver in 14:43.62 and Corentin Combe and Clement Monjanel secured bronze in 14:54.04.
The women’s C2 title was won by Switzerland’s Mona Clavadetscher and Hannah Mueller in 16:06.78.
Silver went to Great Britain’s Kerry Christie and Emma Christie in 16:26.22, while France’s Clara Gaubert and Elsa Gaubert bagged bronze in 16:44.63.

There was a dead heat in the women’s K1 sprint as Luisa Puttkammer and Novosadova shared top spot after they both clocked a time of 1:02.37.
Cecilia Panato was 0.24 seconds back in third with 1:02.61.
Sauteur got the better of fellow Frenchman Ferrion to seal the men’s C1 title in 1:02.54.
Ferrion secured silver in 1:03.62 with Slovakia’s Jaromir Ivanecky claiming bronze in 1:03.74.
Nejc Znidarcic overcame Slovenian rival Anze Urankar to become men’s K1 sprint champion in Mezzana.
Urankar earned silver in 56.35 with Germany’s Nicolas Niederle-Gomez placing third in 56.41.
There was another gold for Sauteur and Viens as they edged French team-mates Manoel Roussin and Tanguy by a mere 0.09 in the men’s C2 sprint.
Sauteur and Viens took the win in 59.29 as the Roussin duo claimed silver in 59.38 and Combe and Monjanel ensured another French one-two-three by securing bronze in 1:00.75.
Clara Gaubert and Elsa Gaubert delivered more success for France as they powered to the women’s C2 sprint title.
They emerged victorious in 1:06.99 as Switzerland’s Clavadetscher and Mueller claimed silver in 1:07.57 and Czechia’s Pavla Jilkova and Marie Nemcova clinched bronze in 1:10.48.
