The ICF has announced it will conduct a classifier trainee workshop in Tokyo in September.
It will take place at the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympic/Paralympic test event. See details below.
GOAL: To disseminate awareness and knowledge of the ICF paracanoe classification system. To offer a paracanoe level 3 classifier workshop in a hands-on workshop wherein classifier candidates will learn and apply their classification skills with athletes. Successful candidates will be certified to conduct paracanoe athlete classifications at the national level.
WHEN: September 16-18, 2019
The Workshop follows the Olympic & Paralympic test event (Sept. 12 – 15)
WHERE: “Sea Forest Olympic & Paralympic Watersport Centre”
Tokyo
REGISTRATION: 250 euro/person fee payable to the ICF by July 8th, 2019
ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation will be in the Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel
It is one of the hotels also used for the Test Event. Participants should plan to arrive on the 15th and leave on the 19th or they may wish to attend some of the Test Event competition.
95 euro/day/person for the hotel (breakfast included)
airport shuttle service will be available
TRAVEL: Air connections to Tokyo Haneda or Narita airports. (Haneda is closer)
WHO: A maximum of 10 federations (two persons; one medical and one technical) will be permitted to participate
Pre-requisites for trainee classifiers:
As noted in the paracanoe rules & regulations;
Must be nominated by an ICF member federation or national paralympic committee
Resumes & letter of interest to be sent in. Should describe personal reasons for participating. (English)
Questionnaire to assess knowledge in advance of the course will be sent out.
