The International Canoe Federation with the support of the German Canoe Federation will hold a paracanoe level three workshop in Duisburg in June.
The three-day course will be held at the Duisburg Regatta Centre on June 8, 9 and 10. The course will provide valuable information on the new ICF paracanoe classification system, and also allow earlier exposure for athletes to the new rules ahead of the ICF World Championships.
The workshop is also designed to increase the number if level three classifiers at the national level.
REGISTRATION: Closes May 13. The fee is 300 euro per person, payable to the ICF.
ACCOMMODATION: Cost will be 350 euro, covering three nights accommodation, three days of breakfast, lunch and dinner, and pick-up and drop-off from the Duisburg railway station. Please email Kirsten.louis@kanu.de to book accommodation, transfers and to make payment.
WHO: A maximum of ten (10) federations, with a medical and technical delegate from each, will be permitted to participate. Applicants must meet the following conditions;
- Specify Technical or Medical candidate classifier
- See Section 4.3 of the ICF Classification Rules & Regulations
- Successful completion of the IPC’s Introduction to Para Sport online programme by June 30.
- Must be nominated by an ICF member Federation
- Resumes and letter of interest to be sent in. Should describe personal reasons for participating. (in English)
- A questionnaire to assess knowledge in advance of the course will be sent out.
NOTE: At the successful conclusion candidates will be able to classify athletes at the national level.
