Applications to bid for International Canoe Federation competitions until 2030, including the inaugural World Paddle Games, are now open.

In 2027, the World Cups in Canoe Marathon, Wildwater Canoeing, Canoe Ocean Racing, and Stand Up Paddling (SUP) are up for grabs.

In 2028, a non-Olympic Canoe Sprint World Championships, Paracanoe World Championships, Wildwater Canoeing World Championships, and Dragon Boat World Championships are open for bidding.

National Federations can put in their proposals for five Canoe Slalom World Cups and World Cups in Canoe Marathon, SUP, Canoe Ocean Racing, Canoe Freestyle, and Wildwater Canoeing in the Olympic and Paralympic year.

As of now, no event has been awarded for 2029, including the first Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships and the Canoe Slalom World Championships towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032 cycle.

Along with the World Championships in the non-Olympic disciplines, three Canoe Sprint World Cups, five Canoe Slalom World Cups, and one World Cup each in Canoe Marathon, SUP, Canoe Ocean Racing, and Wildwater Canoeing are also available four years from now.

The ICF Canoe Marathon World Cup is up for grabs in 2027

In 2030, selected hosts will make history by becoming the first to stage the World Paddle Games, a celebration of water, sport, and culture.

The new flagship event will bring together all ICF disciplines under a single global stage, featuring a city-wide festival.

The World Paddle Games will also emphasise on sustainability and social engagement, creating an atmosphere that combines paddle sport with mass participation, maximising  the impact for the hosts.

The ICF is now seeking Expressions of Interest from National Federations, host cities, and event organisers to be part of history and host the first-ever World Paddle Games.

Expressions of Interest should contain the proposed host location and facilities, demonstrating their organisational capacity and experience in delivering major events.

Shortlisted parties will be provided with a detailed bidding pack to support the development of formal proposals.
