Reallocation of Olympic Canoe Sprint Places

This is a rundown of the reallocation process for Rio 2016 Olympic Canoe Sprint places following suspensions for Romanian and Belarusian athletes.

All reallocations are applied to the races that the quota was originally allocated; in all cases for Romanian and Belarus athletes qualified through the 2015 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, Italy.  

Romanian K4 Men 1000m out (Trian Neagu, Catalin Turceag, Daniel Burciu, Petrus Gavrila)

Germany K4 1000m Men was the next to qualify but they turned down place which then moved to the Italian K4 Men 1000m (Nicola Rpaminoti, Giulio Dressino, Albino Battelli, Alberto Ricchetti / 13th World Championships)

Romanian K2 Women 500m out (Roxana Borha, Elena Meroniac) Great Britain K2 Women 500 in (Lani Belcher, Angela Hannah / 9th World Championships)

Belarus K4 Men 1000m Men out (Pavel Miadzvedzeu, Andrei Tsarykovich, Vitaliy Bialko, Raman Piatrushenka) Brazil K4 Men 1000m in (Roberto Maheler, Edson Freitas Da Silva, Vagner Junior Souta, Celso Dias De Oliveira Junior)

Poland’s Bartosz Stabno takes the additional athlete quota in the K1 Men 1000m due to Da Silva doubling up.

Belarus C1 Men 200m out Artsem Kozyr

France’s C1 Men 200m Thomas Smart in / 11th World Championships

Belarus C2M 1000m out (Andrei Bahdanovich, Aliaksandr Bahdanovich) Germany C2M 1000m in (Peter Kretschmer, Michael Mueller / 7th World Championships)
