Krakow, Poland is preparing to stage the International Canoe Federation Canoe Freestyle World Cup in September.

Competition was originally scheduled to take place in Krakow from June 15 to 21 before paddlers head to Millau, France for another ICF Canoe Freestyle World Cup a week later.

But the decision has now been taken, following a request by the Polish Canoe Federation, to reschedule the World Cup with the ICF agreeing for the event to be held from September 21 to 27.

Terry Best, Chair of the ICF Canoe Freestyle Committee, said: “With the likes of Tomasz Czaplicki and Zofia Tula representing Poland on the global stage, it is great for the country to have the opportunity to host a World Cup.

“After agreeing to reschedule the event to September, we are delighted that athletes will have the chance to compete in two World Cups in 2026 ahead of next year’s World Championships.

“We plan to have a site visit in March and continue to work with the Polish Canoe Federation to set out the competition schedule.”
