Tatyana Tokarnitskaya bagged a brace of titles and Timofey Yemelyanov struck gold as Kazakhstan impressed at the Asian Canoe Marathon Championships in Hong Kong. 

Tokarnitskaya clinched women’s kayak titles over the long and short distances, while Yemelyanov starred in the men’s canoe long distance. 

A time of 18:33.23 saw Tokarnitskaya come out on top in the women’s K1 short distance.  

Vietnam’s Dinh Thi Trang sealed silver in 18:48.35, with Japan’s Emiri Watanabe collecting bronze in 19:36.80. 

Iraq’s Sulaiman Ahmed Saeed Al-Sammarraie earned gold in the men’s K1 short distance after clocking a winning time of 15:48.69.  

He got the better of Japan’s Lajos Gyokos who crossed in 15:51.16 for silver, while Hong Kong’s Tsz Chun Cheung picked up bronze in 17:44.03.

The women’s C1 short distance resulted in a battle between two Vietnamese paddlers. 

Ly Thi Thuy took top spot in 20:02.01, edging out Ma Thi Dieu Ngoc who finished in 20:43.57. 

Tajikistan’s Shahriyor Daminov emerged victorious in the men’s C1 short distance, triumphing in 18:18.31.  

Kazakhstan’s Yemelyanov clinched silver in 18:35.88 as the bronze went to Tajikistan’s Amirjon Bobojonov in 18:54.92. 

Yemelyanov bounced back in the men’s C1 long distance, winning in 1:27:11.57. 

He saw off Tajikistan duo Daminov and Bobojonov who took the other two spots on the podium after registering times of 1:29:14.35 and 1:31:01.01, respectively.

Kazakhstan also claimed gold in the women’s K1 long distance courtesy of Tokarnitskaya’s victory in 1:45:53.02.  

Vietnam’s Dinh secured silver in 1:48:32.08, with Japan’s Watanabe bagging bronze in 1:51:20.72. 

Japan’s Gyokos sealed top spot in the men’s K1 long distance, triumphing in 1:4:56.2. 

Silver went to Iraq’s Al-Sammarraie who crossed in 1:49:48.35, while Hong Kong’s Cheung posted 1:57:48.15 for bronze. 

There was another Vietnamese one-two in the women’s C1 long distance as Thi Thuy overcame Dieu Ngoc again. 

Thi Thuy clinched gold in 1:23:39.37, with Dieu Ngoc sealing silver in 1:25:59.73.
