International Canoe Federation vice-president Cecila Farias has been re-elected to the position of vice-president of the Association of Pan American Sports Federations (ACODEPA).

The position is for four years. There were 38 federations who voted, and 32 of them supported Ms Farias. She will be the only female on the ACODEPA executive committee.

The elections were carried out during the XV111 Pan American Games.

"It is important for the ICF to be part of the executive of the continental sport associations and I continue working on that direction," Ms Farias said.

"With a new elected EXCO and BOD, ACODEPA intends to have a more important role on the Pan American and other Games to come."

The ICF congratulates Ms Farias on her election and looks forward to a continuation of the great work she has been doing to promote the sport of canoeing in the Pan American region.
