Confederation of African Canoeing activities Q3 2025

Angola visit

The Confederation of African Canoeing made a visit to Angola ahead of the African Canoe Sprint Championships and African Youth Games in Luanda. The African Canoe Sprint Championships will be held from November 28 to 30, followed by the African Youth Games from December 10 to 20.

The visit brought together Chiefs de Mission from all the participating nations as they discussed the sports programme, with the CAC making a presentation on canoeing for the Games.

CAC Executive Committee meeting

We also had several meetings with the ICF including a presentation from Ali Hassan, who is the ICF’s new Africa and Europe Continental Manager.

There was a meeting of the CAC Executive Committee which saw the approval of events for the upcoming African Canoe Sprint Championships in Luanda, Angola along with the ITO Seminar and regional coaching course.

Egypt visit

This past quarter also saw the CAC pay a visit to Egypt to meet with the President of the Egyptian Canoe Federation and the country’s Minister of Youth and Sports.

The meeting was held to discuss preparations for the African Games which will be held in Cairo in 2027.
