ICF Paracanoe Committee activities Q2 2026

IPC Open Day
During the IPC Open Days, meetings were held with all IPC departments to discuss a range of strategic priorities. Discussions focused on preparations for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, the application process for the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games, and requests for IPC support to strengthen the inclusion of Para Canoe in Continental Games. Opportunities for joint media projects between the IPC and the ICF were also explored. In addition, the IPC highlighted the Arab-speaking Para Canoe Workshop in its report to its funding partner, Toyota.
Brandenburg World Cup
The Brandenburg World Cup welcomed 160 athletes, comprising 105 men and 55 women, representing 28 National Federations across four continents. During the event, 40 athlete classifications were completed.
Continental Championships
The Asian Para Canoe Championships featured 45 athletes from seven National Federations within one continent, with 15 athlete classifications completed during the competition.
The European Para Canoe Championships welcomed 103 athletes, including 68 men and 35 women, from across Europe. A total of 21 athlete classifications were conducted during the event.
Classification
Classification activities continued to expand through education and workforce development initiatives. Coordination is underway for a Level 3 Classification Workshop in Majorca, scheduled for 13–15 November. Planning has also begun for a Level 3 Pan American Classification Workshop, which is expected to take place in early 2027.
